United Way Perth-Huron is now accepting applications for their Youth in Action Grants

by Bob Montgomery

United Way Perth Huron Director of Governance and Community Impact Megan Partridge the grants are available to anyone between the ages of fourteen and twenty-five who wants to address pressing issues among young people in Perth or Huron County.

Partridge says they can get up to a thousand dollars for their project and she says young people have come up with some amazing projects in the past. She says young people, more than anyone else, have a pulse on the needs of the young people in their communities and they're looking at ways to address those needs.

Partridge says young people are the ones with the best ideas for their projects and they put a tremendous amount of work into their projects so they're hoping to get applications from all parts of Huron and Perth. She says to be eligible for a grant, the project must be planned and implemented by youth between the ages of fourteen and twenty-five, clearly engage their peers in Perth or Huron Counties and have an adult trustee over the age of 25.

The deadline for applications is October 13. Details regarding criteria and timelines are available at perthhuron.unitedway.ca.
