Remembrance Day Ceremony In Goderich

by Bob Montgomery

The weather on this Remembrance Day did very little to discourage Goderich and area residents from coming out and showing their gratitude to the people who sacrificed their lives for us.

Goderich Legion Branch 109 President Randy Carroll says he's not surprised to see the Courthouse Square filled with people. He says this year, more than the last few years, there's a lot of unrest in our country and most people are concerned about what's going on in the rest of the world right now and for most of us, the meaning of remembrance is a little more top-of-mind this year.

Most Canadians are grateful to be where we are, but at the same time, concerned about some of things going on around us. Carroll says we're blessed with peace and with a beautiful country, and we can't take that for granted.
