Nominations Open For The 2025 YMCA Women Of Excellence Awards

The YMCA is now accepting nominations for their Women of Excellence Awards.

VP of Marketing and Communications, Elyse Sheare, says in 2025 they'll be celebrating forty years since the YMCA Women of Excellence Awards began and it's celebrated every two years. This year the celebration will take place on May 15th of 2025.

The celebration involves honouring eight women who have been nominated in a variety of categories by peers of theirs from across Southwestern Ontario. One of categories is breaking barriers, by breaking barriers in the workplace, breaking down old policies or providing new opportunities for underrepresented individuals. Entrepreneurs and health and science are other categories.

It’s a way for the Y to not only recognize and honour women across the region, but also to support and raise funds for their charities. Those charities enable kids and people of all ages and stages in life to access the Y's programs and services. It's a very exciting event.

The nominations are now being accepted for any women a nominator believes has achieved the objectives required for the award. The nominator could be a family member, a peer or a friend. Nomination information can be found here.

Nominations will close on Wednesday, December 11, 2024.
