Mayor of Morris-Turnberry Appointed Huron County Warden
by Bob Montgomery
Morris-Turnberry Mayor, Jamie Heffer, was appointed the next Warden of Huron County at today's inaugural council meeting.
Heffer is a long-time resident of Morris-Turnberry. He and his wife, Lori, reside on the family farm where they are actively involved in sheep, beef, and crop production. Heffer was elected as a councillor of Morris-Turnberry in 2010. He moved up to Deputy-Mayor in 2014 and was elected Mayor in 2018.
His goal for the next two years is to see Huron County continue the course, continue what they're doing and do it well. He's also grateful to have excellent councillors and a great staff to work with. “As we make decisions and move forward, we try and be consistent, try to make good decisions. We have diverse views but at the end of the day we come to term with a direction and move on with it.” Heffer will be Warden through 2025 and 2026
“County of Huron staff congratulate Warden Heffer on his new appointment and we look forward to working together in this upcoming term,” said Meighan Wark, County of Huron Chief Administrative Officer.
