Municipality of Huron East Hosting Job Fair

by Bob Montgomery

The Municipality of Huron East is hosting a job fair next Saturday.

Huron East Economic Development Officer Taralyn Cronin says the municipality will be hiring a few more students this summer than they usually do so it made sense to host a job fair. They have opened it up to other Huron East employers who are looking for students for the summer or full-time employees.

“We're hiring for summer day camps in Brussels and Vanastra, we're also hiring two lifeguard instructors in Brussels, we're hiring a parks and recreation student for grass maintenance and flower watering and we're hiring a public works student, a student for administration and a finance student.”

Cronin says they're hiring more students this year than they have in the past because the day camp in Brussels and the finance student are new positions. She says it's a great way for the students to get to know their community a little better and to give back a little to their community. The job fair runs from 9:30 AM until 12:00 PM at the Seaforth and District Community Centre on Duke Street in Seaforth. Students should bring their resume with them and there will be an opportunity for on-the-spot interviews for positions with the municipality as well as other Huron East employers.

More information about the job fair can be found on here.
