March Break Family Fun Days coming to the Bruce County Museum & Cultural Centre

The Bruce County Museum & Cultural Centre is inviting families to enjoy a week-long adventure filled with magic, science, reptiles, and a journey back to Medieval times during March Break, from March 9 to March 16.

From movies and story time to interactive magic shows and fascinating science and historical demonstrations there's something for every member of the family to enjoy each day of the week.

The March Break Family Fun show schedule includes:

  • March Break Movie Screening on March 9th with a special screening of Dead Poets Society, celebrating the power of literature and individuality.

  • Steve Baker Magic "Teach a Trick" Show on March 11th Magician Steve Baker returns to share easy magic tricks for kids to learn and perform.

  • Light is Blue (and Red and Green) Science Show on March 12th features the magic of light and colours with exciting experiments and demonstrations.

  • How to Catch a Mouse: Simple Machines at Work Show on March 13th is an interactive learning experience aimed at teaching the basic principles of science.

  • Sciensational Sssnakes Reptile Show on March 14th is a chance to get up close with Ontario's snake species and learn about their habitats and behaviours.

  • Medieval Knights Performance with Northgeatham March 15th is all about armoured combat, fencing, and historical activities that offer a glimpse into medieval life.

  • March Break Museum Tour and Deep Dive on March 16th takes a journey through Bruce County history with guided tours and explores hidden gems within the museum's collections.

In addition to these exciting activities, families are invited to story time with Indigenous author Dorothy Ladd on March 16. Dorothy will give a special reading of her illustrated children’s book Memengwaa, the Monarch Butterfly and introduce her new companion activity book which will be available for purchase.

There will also be a special guided button sewing activity from artists included in the current Thread of the Story exhibit, happening March 12 to March 14. All events are free for members, with general admission applying for non-members. Pre-registration for shows is required and includes general entry to the museum.
