Huron Hospice Fundraiser in Kingsbridge a Huge Success

by Bob Montgomery

The Manager of Fund Development for the Huron Hospice says they were particularly excited about Saturday's event at the Kingsbridge because it was live.

Christopher Walker says the last three events were virtual and run from the FauxPop Station in Goderich. He points out the Province provides about half of their revenue so they have to raise about $700,000 in the community. Walker says they didn't have a specific goal for Saturday night's event but in the last three years they've been able to raise close to $100,000. They topped that on Saturday night, raising about $115,000.

Walker says that money pays for things like the nursing care, the upkeep of the grounds and the home respite program that they offer. Walker says they hadn't set a financial goal for Saturday night's event other than they hoped that everyone had a good time at their first in-person event in three years.
