Central Huron Council Extends Zoning of Bluestone Wake Park To Permanent

by Bob Montgomery

Central Huron council extended the zoning designation for the Bluestone Wake Park to permanent at this week's council meeting.

Mayor Jim Ginn explains the Wake Park has operated on Telephone Line, just east of Parr Line, for three years now on a temporary designation and Ginn says in that time he's never heard any complaints and anything he has heard has been very positive. In fact, the Wake Park is one of the few in Ontario and attracts a demographic that often doesn't have a lot to do in Huron County so it's a huge asset for the municipality. And aside from attracting young people into the area, it also provides jobs for young people.

Ginn says now that Central Huron has approved the change to permanent, the official plan amendment will have to go to the county for final approval.
