Volunteers Needed To Help Clean Up Downtown Goderich

by Bob Montgomery

A high school student in Goderich is looking for volunteers to help clean up the town.

Manoj Medavarapu is going into grade twelve at GDCI and he's doing this on behalf of Earth Rangers. He explains he was looking online for something he could organize and do to help the town and he thought one thing he could do is help clean up the town. “I was initially going to do a beach clean-up but then I realized that had already been done so doing another one now wouldn't be a great idea, but I could help keep the town clean.” He started out by putting up posters but one night when he and some of his friends were going around town for a walk and they noticed the amount of garbage that had been left around and decided they could do something for the town by cleaning that up.

Medavarapu says he's looking for about fifteen volunteers to help him go around the town and clean up garbage from four in the afternoon until six in the evening this Friday. He says the volunteers would break up into groups and go to various parks and other places where people tend to gather. Anyone interested in joining them can contact Manoj Medavarapu by email at manojmedavarapu@gmail.com or call him at 506-377-8399.
