The Chamber of Commerce for Goderich, Central and North Huron is now accepting nominations for their Spirit of Success Awards
by Bob Montgomery
Chamber Operations Manager Heather Boa says they've added four new categories this year to bring the total number of categories to fourteen, plus the overall Business of the Year Award. Boa points out nominations of members or non-members located in Goderich, Central or North Huron can be made on the Chamber’s webpage: huronchamber.ca/2023-spirit-of-success-award.
Boa says one of the new awards is the Bazinet Family Volunteer Award and she says it's the first time they've had a specific award for a volunteer for what they've done throughout the year to make their community a better place. Boa says there are several people in the area who have volunteered for years and left their mark all over the community. But she says it's also very encouraging to see young people stepping forward to volunteer as some of the older ones step back.
Other new awards include the Mainstreet Credit Union Excellence in Agribusiness Award, the Berhan Immigration and Settlement Services Newcomer Award, and the Huron County Economic Development Employer of Choice Award.
Boa says the deadlines for nominations is Friday, October 6th. Boa adds people can nominate themselves, nominate a business they’ve relied on, nominate an event they attend every year, but the Chamber urges them to nominate often to help the Chamber reach its goal of 100 nominations. Winners will be announced at the annual Chamber of Commerce for Goderich, Central and North Huron Spirit of Success Awards Gala on Friday, November 10 at the White Carnation in Holmesville.
