Students From The Two High Schools In Clinton Will Be Painting The Town Red Tomorrow
by Bob Montgomery
Central Huron's Community Improvement Coordinator says she's recruited art students from both Central Huron and St. Anne's secondary schools to paint murals on the road on Friday.
Angela Smith explains the series of murals will run from the area of the REACH Centre, the arena and the casino, into the downtown core and the goal is to encourage people to follow the murals from the area around the REACH Centre to the downtown area. Smith says they know a lot of visitors to the town go to the arena and the casino and they want to make sure those visitors see the whole town.
Smith says the other reason for brightening up the street with a little artwork is to get ready for next years 150th Homecoming, and they have tentatively chosen three sites for those murals next spring.
Smith says the art students are expected to start painting around nine-thirty Friday morning and finish around two-thirty in the afternoon, and members of the public are invited to come out and cheer them on.
