Libraries Across The Province Are Celebrating Ontario Public Library Week This Week

by Bob Montgomery

Huron County's Library is one of many throughout the province that are celebrating Ontario Public Library Week this week.

Programming and Community Engagement Coordinator for Huron County, Jim Seal, says events are being scheduled across the province and Huron County Libraries have chosen to celebrate with a series of events for people between the ages of eight and fourteen to help them learn about electronic circuitry and transistors. Events are scheduled Tuesday night in Seaforth, Wednesday in Clinton, Thursday in Exeter and two on Saturday in Goderich and in Wingham. Students will learn about circuitry and then, with the help of an expert, learn how to build their own circuit board.

Seal adds, their keynote event is a virtual Author Talk featuring author Elizabeth Renzetti, who wrote a book called “What She Said,” about modern Canadian feminism, and she will be interviewed by another best-selling author, Heather Marshall. That takes place on Thursday night from 7:00 till 8:30 in the evening. Seal also mentioned they’ll be posting information on their social media platforms about the return on investment that libraries bring to the community.

There's more information about all of the events on the library's website, and they also have information on their social media pages. Registration for the events is required so anyone planning to attend any of the events should go on the web page and register.
