Huron Shores Area Transit Expands Service To Grand Bend

by Bob Montgomery

Huron Shores Area Transit has expanded their service to Grand Bend.

Transit Coordinator Susan Mills says their route from London to Grand Bend is particularly popular in the summer and last year they found they had several situations where their bus was completely full. They're hoping to avoid that this year. “To do that we thought we would be proactive by providing a pre-booking system so that people who are considering coming up to Grand Bend to go to the beach can pre-book their seat to Grand Bend and book their seat coming home so that there's nobody stranded at the end of the day.” Mills says they can transport eighty to a hundred people to the beach but not all of those people can get back home on the last bus.

Mills says it's a user-friendly booking system online that allows people to pre-book their seats, including seats for children, and payment can be made by debit-credit or credit card, and there's no increase in fees to do that. The price for pre-booking is the same as it is for a regular passenger return trip, which is twenty dollars, and children ride free when accompanied by an adult.
