Goderich Filling Vacant Seat on Councillor

by Bob Montgomery

The deadline for anyone interested in filling the vacant seat on Goderich council is this Friday at noon.

The vacancy was created when Deputy Mayor, Trevor Bazinet, was appointed to the position of Mayor with the passing of Myles Murdock. Former councillor Leah Noel was named Deputy Mayor. Bazinet says they will hold a special council meeting on November 20th at one PM and anyone who has applied to fill the position on council will have a chance to make a presentation to council and answer councillor's questions. Council will then vote, at that meeting, on who they want to fill the vacant council seat. And then at the November 27th council meeting they will be back up to the full 27-member council.
