Central Huron's BIA has a new executive

By Bob Montgomery

Central Huron BIA's new Chair says they've got a lot of work to do in the coming year.

Hayley Bettles is the new Chair for the Central Huron BIA. She says in the next year they've going to focus in on getting everything working smoothly initially and then try to bring some new projects. Hayley says one of those projects will involve creating a new common theme for the down town. Hayley says some of the flower pots in the down town are circled and some are squared and some of the signs are old, so they're trying to come up with one there to make the down town more cohesive.

Hayley says they're also going to try and build their membership. She says part of that will involve reaching out to people with a new welcome package that will outline what the BIA is all about, what their roles and responsibilities might be if they decide to participate as well as the benefits as well as meeting dates and those will be sent out to all of the down town businesses in the hope that that will attract more people to come out to their meetings.

Hayley says the new executive also voted to hold only one evening a month and that will be on the second Wednesday of each month. Their next meeting is scheduled for Wednesday October 11th.
