Bluewater Council Taking Steps to Speed Up Building Processing

by Bob Montgomery

Bluewater council is taking a few steps to accelerate new building in the municipality.

Mayor Paul Klopp says in the past if someone wanted to re-zone their property or move a lot line so that a new home could be built on part of the property, even though there were no complaints from neighbours or the road department and the Conservation Authority had no issues, it would still have to come and be read to council and then council would vote to approve it.

Klopp says at this week's council meeting they passed a motion that would see any proposal that was not being opposed by anyone go directly to the consent agenda where it's approved without any discussion or time spent on the proposal.
