$10,000 Donation From Hopper Family Supports CT Scanner At Wingham Hospital

by Bob Montgomery

Wayne and Linda Hopper of Brussels have donated $10,000 to the Wingham & District Hospital Foundation’s Caring Together campaign raising funds for a new CT scanner.

Wayne has benefitted from the care at the hospital in the past, including needing to travel for a CT scan. The Hoppers are grateful for a successful farming season this year and because they have experienced the importance of the local hospital, they wanted to pass on some of that good fortune by supporting the campaign.

“We hope this donation will inspire others to give as well”, says Hopper. “In fact, I’d like to issue a challenge to the other farmers in the area to join us in helping the hospital.”

Caring Together Chair Mark Foxton thanked the Hoppers saying, “the farming community is a huge reason why this area continues to thrive. It makes a lot of sense to work together so we all have the services we need close to home.”

The Caring Together campaign has reached 94% of its goal of raising $3,600,000 for the new CT scanner and the necessary renovations. Anyone interested in taking up the Hoppers’ challenge or learning more about the CT scanner can visit www.wdhfoundation.ca/ct-scanner
