Town of Goderich Increasing Landing Fees At Airport

by Bob Montgomery

The town of Goderich has decided to increase the landing fees at the Goderich Airport.

Goderich Mayor Trevor Bazinet says it was something they had to do. The airport is currently running a deficit so council has been looking at ways to reduce that deficit. Bazinet says they've looked carefully at what other area airports are charging and found they weren't even charging for some of the things that other airports are charging for, so it's time for an increase.

Bazinet says the fee schedule is something new, but hopefully it will generate some revenue and help them reduce the operating deficit at the airport.
