Tim Hortons Holiday Smile Cookies Give United Way Reason To Celebrate

by Bob Montgomery

Tim Hortons Holiday Smile Cookies offered a new way to spread kindness during the holiday season and now, United Way Perth-Huron is celebrating a donation of $7,764 to the organization’s Urgent Needs Fund.

“We’d like to thank Dan Moynihan and his staff in Blyth, Clinton and Seaforth, the volunteers who helped us decorate cookies and all the people who bought them,” said Michelle Millar, United Way Perth Huron Manager of Community Development in Goderich and area and Southern Huron. “Thanks to the caring and support of our community, we can help ensure vulnerable people in Huron have the chance for a brighter future. Thank you again to everyone for their support.”

"The United Way and their team of volunteers were great partners for our Holiday Smile Cookie campaign,” said Dan Moynihan, owner of the Tim Hortons in Blyth, Clinton and Seaforth. “Their hard work allowed us to support two great charities, the United Way’s Urgent Need Fund and Tim Hortons Foundation Camps. Thank you to our customers in Blyth, Clinton and Seaforth for the incredible support!"

In total, the Tim Hortons in Blyth, Clinton and Seaforth raised a total of $15,528, split 50/50 between United Way Perth Huron’s Urgent Needs Fund and the Tim Hortons Foundation Camps.

The Urgent Needs Fund is accessible 24 hours a day, seven days a week, 365 days a year in over 150 languages through the 211 helpline. The fund provides financial support for essentials such as rent arrears, winter clothing, car repairs, groceries and more. Last year, 314 people across Huron County accessed the fund.
