The Huron Manufacturing Association Has Launched Safety Courses In Huron County

by Bob Montgomery

The Huron Manufacturing Association has introduced a series of safety courses for Huron County businesses.

Huron Manufacturing Association Chair, Larry Livingston says it has come to their attention that, as a result of COVID, a number of their members and contractors in the area are sorely lacking in the Labour Ministry guideline. In order to help them avoid an accident or a fine, the Huron Manufacturing Association has launched a series of safety courses that are currently only available in larger, urban centres to keep Huron and Perth manufacturers compliant with the Ministry.

They're offering a number of courses starting with Lock Out – Tag Out on November 19th, WHMIS on the 19th, Fork Lift Training on the 20th,Working at Heights on the 26th, Forklift Refresher on the 27th, Working at Heights Refresher on the 28th, First Aid & CPR on December 3rd and 4th and First Aid Refresher on December 4th. Livingston says this will provide manufacturers in Huron Perth the opportunity to help their employees get the training they need locally.

The biggest asset for any employer is their people, so it's in their best interest to look after them and make sure they have the skills and training they need. For more information about the courses visit the HMA website here. Livingston adds that Huron County has partnered with the Manufacturing Association in this project and the courses will be conducted at the REACH Centre on Beech Street in Clinton.
