Project Lifesaver Re-launches In Perth County

The Perth County Ontario Provincial Police and Victim Services Huron Perth are inviting the public and media to attend an information session and demonstration of Project Lifesaver.

Project Lifesaver is a community based, public-safety, non-profit organization that provides law enforcement and caregivers with a program designed to protect, and when necessary, quickly locate individuals who are prone to the life-threatening behaviour of wandering. Individuals can be equipped with a one-ounce wrist-transmitter that sends a radio signal that can be tracked up to a two-kilometer radius. The system operates 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. When notified by caregivers that an individual is missing, specially trained Perth County OPP officers use mobile tracking equipment to find them.

"Victim Services Huron Perth is excited to be part of Project Life Saver for the Perth region. We hope that by using fundraised dollars to provide new clients a free trial offer it will promote the use of the product to individuals that may have had financial barriers to using it prior to this opportunity. Project Lifesaver will give confidence to our families that their loved one can be located if they wander away and support safety planning for vulnerable individuals." - Deborah Logue - Executive Director Victim Services Huron Perth.

Please join the Perth County OPP, along with partner organizations for an information session and see a demonstration of the Project Lifesaver program in action.
