New Water Sculpture Has Been Unveiled In Clinton

A new Water Sculpture has been unveiled on Issac Street in Clinton.
Mayor Jim Ginn says it took two years to complete the project. The concrete was poured last year and the sculpture was completed this past week and they've filled the water feature up with cobble stones so the water will run back down through the pump and re-circulate. Ginn says they've also replaced the wooden benches with concrete benches because the wooden benches had to be brought in every winter.
Ginn says the sculpture was created as a tribute to of all of the volunteers who have worked hard over the years for the beautification of downtown Clinton. Ginn says visitors to the community tend to judge it by the appearance of the main street so anything that makes the main street look better or unique in any way is a bonus. The main idea was they wanted something that was visible from the main intersection so that people passing through the town would see a fountain, and they've achieved that.
The municipality did receive some provincial funding for the reconstruction of Issac Street and the parkette, and the sculpture was created by Jim Wallace from Sharp's Creek Forge, just outside of Goderich, who has done work all over southwestern Ontario. The sculpture is right in front of one of the murals on Issac Street, near the traffic lights.
