Lynn Hoy Enterprises Giving Tuesday Big Match Raises $43,165 For The Wingham Hospital

The Wingham & District Hospital Foundation partnered with Lynn Hoy Enterprises to kick off the giving season on Giving Tuesday – December 3rd.
Lynn Hoy Enterprises offered a $10,000 matching gift to double donations made to the hospital on Giving Tuesday. The community responded enthusiastically and generously and the event exceeded its goal ultimately raising $43,165 for an ultrasound machine.
Fortunately the weather cooperated enough to allow an in-person drop-in event at the Lynn Hoy Enterprises showroom. Donors stopped by to make donations, enjoy some holiday treats, sign the holiday card for hospital staff and enter the prize raffles. Many more people generously contributed online. Debbie Murray of Lynn Hoy Enterprises said, “We’ve had reason to be grateful for hospitals and healthcare in our family. Giving back to our community has always been an important part of how we run our business and the matching gift was a great way to do a little bit more for our hospital. We can’t believe it went so well!”
The hospital and the foundation are very pleased with the results of the Giving Tuesday Big Match. Executive Director Nicole Duquette said, “We are grateful to everyone who took the time to support our hospital on Giving Tuesday. The Big Match is quickly becoming an important tradition and goes a long way towards keeping our hospital well equipped. We can’t thank the team at Lynn Hoy’s enough for making it possible this year.”
The $43,165 raised on Giving Tuesday will go towards an ultrasound machine. Having high quality images for these safe, non-invasive diagnostic tests is critical for skilled local health professionals to make the best possible decisions for their patients.
Lynn Hoy Enterprises picked up the Giving Tuesday Big Match baton from Leslie Motors Ford who hosted in 2023. Giving Tuesday is a Canada-wide movement to kick off the giving season by supporting local causes. The Big Match event at the Wingham & District Hospital Foundation is a great way for the sponsoring business as well as community members to double the impact they can make for their hospital. Stay tuned for next year when the tradition will pass to a new business partner on December 2, 2025.
