HuronTel Supports Local Healthcare With $75,000 To Wingham Hospital CT Scanner Campaign

by Bob Montgomery

Huron Telecommunications has joined the ever-expanding group of supporters dedicated to bringing a new CT scanner to the Wingham & District Hospital.

HuronTel has pledged $75,000 to the project that will see a new CT scanner in Wingham. HuronTel is a broadband service provider bringing fibre-optic telecommunications service to rural communities and this donation is a natural extension of their commitment in ensuring essential services – including healthcare – are available in rural Ontario.

General Manager Ryan McClinchey presented the donation saying, “the patients who will benefit from a CT scanner at the Wingham Hospital are many of the same people we serve as customers in Huron and Bruce Counties. It’s important for us to support our community wherever we can.”

Everyone at the Wigham & District Hospital Foundation is grateful to the team at HuronTel for this generous gift to the Caring Together campaign. The campaign aims to fully fund a brand-new CT scanner. This vital digital imaging technology will enhance emergency care, make the facility more attractive to prospective physicians, and reduce travel for patients making care safer and faster.
