Huron Shores Area Transit is Conducting a Passenger Poll Contest

by Bob Montgomery

Huron Shores Area Transit launched a customer data collection campaign to gather passenger information to help fine-tune the transit system’s services.

Transit Coordinator Susan Mills says the campaign features a series of six one-question polls designed to gain insight into passenger needs and demographics. “We want to be able to answer the question for our councillors when they ask who's taking the buses and why are they taking them and really there hasn't been any research done since Huron Shores Area Transit came into being.”

So, they've put together the polls, and they'll be released every two weeks from now until mid-July. “They're very quick to answer, very visual, and that data will help us answer those questions and give us a little more insight into why people are taking the bus and where they're going and where they're from.”

The polls will be published on HuronShoresAreaTransit.ca, with a new poll appearing every two weeks. Mills says they're encouraging passengers' participation by offering an opportunity for every poll completed to receive a chance to win one of ten $80 monthly passes. The passes serve as a golden ticket to a month of unlimited travel aboard the transit system’s network.
