Huron County's Multicultural Festival Had Great Weather And Great Crowds
by Bob Montgomery
The steady rain that was predicted for Goderich on Saturday failed to appear. No one seemed disappointed.
By two o'clock the south side of the Court House Park was full of people watching the dancing and visiting the food booths.
Warden Glen McNeil welcomed everyone and noted that this was the twelfth year the Multicultural Festival had been held and it seems to grow every year. This was the first year the event was a two-day festival that started on Friday night with several bands playing and it was extremely well attended, and McNeil says that's why it was expanded to two days.
McNeil says the Multicultural Event seems to grow each year and it has become a major event every summer. “Huron County is a welcoming county to everyone. Everyone is welcome and everyone belongs in Huron County and diversity is our strength.”
McNeil says Huron County welcomes everyone and to see the diversity in our culture today is absolutely amazing. “We have so many vendors here that are introducing people here to the food of their home country and I already see some signs indicating some foods are sold out. That is wonderful and that is what we want, to have everyone enjoy themselves at the Multicultural Festival in Huron County.”
