Howick Mutual Insurance celebrated its 150th year in business this year and it wrapped up the celebration with a donation of 100 thousand dollars to the Wingham and District Hospital Foundation’s Caring Together Campaign to bring a brand new CT Scanner service to the hospital. This donation marks the end of Howick Mutual’s celebrations honouring 150 years in business.

Wingham District Hospital Foundation Executive Director Nicole Duquette says they're trying to raise two and a half million dollars for a CT Scanner at the Wingham Hospital and right now with the donation from Howick Mutual and others they're around the 1.4 million dollar mark. She adds, they have no specific deadline, they'll continue to accept donations until they've met their goal.

“Certainly our goal is to have the machine up and running by mid 2025 and our hope is we'll have the funds in hand by the end of this summer”, said Duquette. She added, “Howick Mutual has been a fantastic supporter of the hospital for many years. We're so grateful to have them in our community. They certainly know what's important and how to put people first and they've done an excellent job of partnering with us here at the hospital. They do a great job in all of the communities they serve.”

Howick Mutual CEO Kevin Inglis says it is important for the company to give. “After serving our community and listening to our policyholders for 150 years we know the hospital and local healthcare matter as much to them as it does to us. We’re proud to be part of this important campaign”.
