Goderich Waterfront Parking Results For The 2024 Season

by Bob Montgomery

This past year saw was a good one as far as generating revenue for parking at the waterfront in Goderich.

Goderich Mayor Trevor Bazinet says this year set a record for the revenue generated by the parking meters, a total of $170,000 and they still have some fines to come in from Provincial Offences.

Only visitors have to pay to park, it's free for Goderich residents and most of the visitors understand the need to charge for parking. He points out their rates are lower than anywhere else and they do offer visitors a seasons pass for $65 and they can use the waterfront as often as they want. They only charge for parking from nine in the morning until five in the evening. It's free to everyone after five.

Bazinet adds the revenue from parking helps to cover some of their costs in maintaining the waterfront.
