The town of Goderich won the Best New Event in 2023 Award at last week's Festival and Events Ontario Awards Ceremony in Niagara Falls.

Tourism and Community Development Manager Jenna Ujiye says they won the award for the Best New Event in 2023 and that event was the Goderich Salt & Harvest Festival. The Goderich Salt and Harvest Festival was held from September 15th to the 17th of last year. “We had thousands of people attend. The whole Festival was all about celebrating our salt history. Events included a Salted Market, activities, above ground salt experience, salt mine virtual reality. We had a beer garden, a salt walk and then we had salted menus along with hop on – hop off bus tours, food trucks, a farmers market along with concerts on the Friday night and Saturday night.”
