Fatal Snowmobile Collision In Bluewater

A collision involving a snowmobile in the Municipality of Bluewater has claimed the life of a Bluewater resident. 

Just before 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday, January 08, 2025, members of the Huron County Ontario Provincial Police, Huron County Paramedic Services, and Bluewater Fire Department responded to a collision near Mill Road just west of Brucefield.

Upon arrival, emergency services located the involved snowmobile and lone operator in a farm field just south of Mill Road. The snowmobile operator was transported by Paramedics to a local hospital where they were later pronounced deceased.

The deceased is a 58-year-old resident of Bluewater. 

The cause of the collision is being investigated. Members from the West Region OPP Traffic Incident Management & Enforcement Team are at the scene to assist with the collision investigation. Mill Road is currently closed between London Road and Airport Line for the investigation and will remain closed for several hours.
