Fatal Collision In Huron East

A two-vehicle collision in the Municipality of Huron East has claimed the life of a Central Huron resident.

Just after 1:35 p.m. on Wednesday, January 01, 2025, members of the Huron County Ontario Provincial Police, Huron County Paramedic Services and North Huron Fire Department responded to a collision on Blyth Road near Hensall Road in Huron East.

Upon arrival, emergency services located the involved vehicles; a sport utility vehicle and a truck hauling a cattle trailer. The lone driver of the truck was pronounced deceased at the scene. The second driver was not injured. Neither vehicle had passengers on board.

The deceased is a 32-year-old resident of Central Huron.

Several cattle needed to be dispatched at the scene due to injuries sustained in the collision.

The cause of the collision is being investigated. Members from the West Region OPP Traffic Incident Management & Enforcement Team are at the scene to assist with the collision investigation. Blyth Road (County Road 25) is currently closed between North Line and Turnbull Line for the investigation and will remain closed for several hours.
