Director of Avon Maitland District School Board Announces Plan to Retirement

by Bob Montgomery

Dr. Lisa Walsh has announced her plan to retire at the end of this school year.

Dr. Walsh says by the end of this school year she will have been with the Avon Maitland Board for seven years. She says she's excited about retiring but at the same it is a little bit daunting.

She says her job has been very fulfilling and she's enjoyed it very much but she is looking forward to having a little more flexibility in her life. There are several other things she would like to pursue while she still has the energy and interest in pursuing them.

Dr. Walsh says one thing she did a few years ago was getting her executive coaching certification and she's really looking forward to using that to work with leaders one on one. In the past, she has also taught some courses at the masters and doctoral level and she may do some of that again. She says she's generally looking forward to a lot different and broader opportunities. She also shares that her parents are both in their eighties and she's looking forward to doing some travelling and spending time with them, as well as with her husband and children.
