Exeter Resident Advocates for Local Off-Leash Dog Park at South Huron Council

by Bob Montgomery

An Exeter woman presented a petition to South Huron council at last night's meeting asking that the municipality consider an off-leash dog park for Exeter in the future.

South Huron Mayor George Finch says Abby Hannah presented a fairly large petition supporting the idea and she made a strong argument for a dog park in Exeter. Finch agrees that the dog parks in Crediton and Centralia aren't much help to Exeter residents who have a dog but don't drive. Hannah suggested that given the number of people in Exeter who own dogs, Exeter should have an off-leash dog park.

Finch says the request will come back to council for discussion at their next meeting.
