County Of Huron Invites Youth To Attend A Student Job Fair On February 18th

by Bob Montgomery

Huron County invites students and youth to an in-person and virtual job fair for a variety of paid positions available at the County of Huron this summer season.

“We have a variety of summer jobs available this season and we warmly welcome students to apply,” said County of Huron Director of Human Resources, Lara Vanstone. “If you’re excited to learn something new, help your community, or just want to build your resume, join us at the County’s job fair!”

The County has many departments that provide a variety of community services and are currently accepting applications from students. Students interested in researching history and sharing local historical stories might want to apply to the Huron County Museum, while those with a passion for healthcare might enjoy working with the County’s long-term care department, Homes for the Aged. Youth interested in the skilled trades would benefit from a student position with the County’s Public Works team, or those who want to learn more about local businesses and improve communications skills may consider the Economic Development department.

Warden Jamie Heffer says the county is very interested in youth engagement and it was felt that next week, during reading week, provided students with the opportunity to come out to the job fair and see what the county has to offer. He adds, the work fair is open to both post secondary and high school students and the hope is that students will take the time to come out see the range of opportunities for them with the county.

Students are welcome to bring their resumes to the job fair or apply online. Learn more about what job positions are available by attending the job fair or visiting www.huroncounty.ca/jobs.
