Bruce Power Commits $100,000 to CT Scanner at Wingham & District Hospital

Bruce Power is committed to investing in healthcare in Bruce and Huron counties.

And they've backed up that commitment with a donation of 100-thousand dollars to the Wingham & District Hospital Foundation to help bring a new CT Scanner service to the hospital.

The Wingham & District Hospital Foundation’s Caring Together campaign is focused on raising at least 2.5 million dollars for a CT Scanner and the required facility renovations. CT scans have become the new standard of medical practice for emergency care. A local CT scanner will also make the hospital more attractive to potential healthcare providers who are looking for access to the most up to date technology.

“Access to healthcare facilities and the best possible equipment and technology is important to Bruce Power,” said John Peevers, Bruce Power’s Director of Community and Media Relations, and Economic Development. “We are proud our funding can help bring improved care to the communities Bruce Power serves as well as to our employees and their families”.

Bruce Power has been a long-time supporter of the Wingham & District Hospital. Their generosity was influential in completing the major hospital redevelopment in 2016 and they have contributed to many important equipment upgrades through the CKNX Healthcare Heroes Radiothon. With this newest donation Bruce Power has contributed more than 285-thousand dollars to the hospital.

Executive Director Nicole Duquette-Jutzi accepted the donation saying, “The positive influence Bruce Power has on the vitality of communities in Huron and Bruce counties can’t be overstated. We are so grateful they continue to recognize local hospitals as the cornerstone of good health for the whole region.”
