Avon Maitland District School Board Seeks Community Feedback on Multi-Year Accessibility Plan

by Bob Montgomery

The Avon Maitland District School Board is looking for feedback from the public on their new multi-year accessibility plan.

Superintendent of Corporate Services Cheri Carter says they're required by the Ministry to have a Multi-year Accessibility Plan under the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act and their last plan expired in 2023. Carter says the Multi-year Accessibility Plan committee has created a new five-year plan in consultation with various committees and staff and now they're putting it out to the public to get their feedback. The new plan goes from 2024 to 2029 and they're hoping to get feedback and then take it to their AODA committee so they can officially finalize the new plan within a few months.

Carter says the proposed new plan can be found on the Board's website. To review the Multi-Year Accessibility Plan click here. You can then fill out a short survey to submit your feedback by clicking here. The survey should only take a few minutes. The deadline for community feedback is March 27th.
