ALPR Alert Yields Several Charges For Truck Driver And Company
Huron County Ontario Provincial Police has charged a commercial truck driver and the trucking company that owns the vehicle following a traffic stop on February 5th in ACW Twp.
Just before 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, February 5th, Huron County OPP officers were patrolling on Lucknow Line in ACW Twp when the Automated Licence Plate Recognition equipment in the cruiser alerted the officer to the licence plate of a passing commercial motor vehicle. A traffic stop was conducted and officers spoke to the driver, discovering further infractions.
The 53-year-old driver from Brampton has been charged under the Highway Traffic Act and Compulsory Automobile Insurance Act as follows:
Driving While Under Suspension,
Use Plate not Authorized for Vehicle,
Fail to Maintain Daily Log,
Operate Commercial Motor Vehicle - no valid CVOR,
Operate Commercial Motor Vehicle - no validated Permit,
Fail to Have Insurance Card,
Fail to Surrender Permit for Trailer.
The trucking company, also based in Brampton was charged with the following offences:
Permit Use of Plate Not Authorized,
Operate Commercial Motor Vehicle - no validated Permit.
The involved vehicle was towed from the scene.
The accused parties now face a court appearance scheduled at the Provincial Offences Court - Goderich.
